I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Dangerous Goods Act 1998 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Amendment Regulations 2003 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Dangerous Goods (Road and Rail Transport) Regulations 1998 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 217 amended (Required medical fitness evidence [18.9])

Regulation 217(3) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Medical Examinations of Commercial Vehicle Drivers published by the Federal Office of Road Safety and the National Road Transport Commission" and substituting "Assessing Fitness to Drive for Commercial and Private Vehicle Drivers September 2003 published by Austroads Inc., as amended from time to time".
