Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Amendment Regulations 2003

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Act 1997 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Amendment Regulations 2003 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Regulations 2003 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 6 inserted

After regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted:

6.   Prescribed national body and forum

(1)  For the purposes of section 19(1)(a) of the Act, the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia Inc is a prescribed national chiropractic body.
(2)  For the purposes of section 19(2)(a) of the Act, the Australian Conference of Osteopath Registration Boards is a prescribed national osteopathic forum.

These regulations amend the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Regulations 2003 by prescribing an accrediting body and forum for section 19 of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths Registration Act 1997.
