Fisheries (Abalone) Amendment Rules 2003
I make the following rules under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 .

These rules may be cited as the Fisheries (Abalone) Amendment Rules 2003 .
These rules take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these rules, the Fisheries (Abalone) Rules 2000 are referred to as the Principal Rules.
4. Rule 3 amended (Interpretation)
Rule 3(1) of the Principal Rules is amended as follows:(a) by omitting the definition of abalone quota unit ;(b) by inserting the following paragraphs after paragraph (i) in the definition of designated port :(j) Tam O'Shanter Bay;(k) North East River;
5. Rule 10 rescinded
Rule 10 of the Principal Rules is rescinded.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the rule)
These rules amend the Fisheries (Abalone) Rules 2000 by (a) removing the requirement for Franklin Sound to be closed for the taking of green-lipped abalone; and(b) adding Tam O'Shanter Bay and North East River to the definition of "designated port"; and(c) making a minor administrative change.
