Medical Radiation Science Professionals Registration Regulations 2003

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Medical Radiation Science Professionals Registration Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Medical Radiation Science Professionals Registration Regulations 2003 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

In these regulations,
Act means the Medical Radiation Science Professionals Registration Act 2000 .

4.   Due date for annual registration fees

For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of "due date" in section 35(1) of the Act, the prescribed date is 31 March.

5.   Extension of registration period

If a practitioner is registered immediately before the commencement of these regulations and his or her registration is due to expire on 31 December 2003, that registration continues in force until 31 March 2004.

These regulations are administered in the Department of Health and Human Services.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations –
(a) prescribe 31 March as the due date for the payment of annual registration fees; and
(b) extend the period of registration for current registered practitioners to 31 March 2004.
