Fire Service (Finance) Amendment Regulations 2003

I, the Administrator in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the State Fire Commission, make the following regulations under the Fire Service Act 1979 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Fire Service (Finance) Amendment Regulations 2003 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 June 2003.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 1996 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 6 substituted

Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted:

6.   Prescribed minimum assessed annual values of land under section 79A(2)

For the purposes of section 79A(2) of the Act, the minimum assessed annual value of land for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2003 is –
(a) $1 938 in relation to each permanent brigade rating district; and
(b) $2 193 in relation to each composite brigade rating district; and
(c) $6 189 in relation to each volunteer brigade rating district; and
(d) $7 400 in relation to general land.

These regulations amend the Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 1996 by prescribing the minimum assessed annual values of land for the purpose of section 79A(2) of the Fire Service Act 1979 for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2003.
