National Parks and Wildlife (Open Seasons) Amendment Order 2003

I make the following order under section 30(1) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the National Parks and Wildlife (Open Seasons) Amendment Order 2003 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if the order were by-laws.

4.   Principal Order

In this order, the National Parks and Wildlife (Open Seasons) Order 2001 is referred to as the Principal Order.

5.    Clause 7 amended (Open season for brown quail)

Clause 7 of the Principal Order is amended by omitting subclause (1) and substituting the following subclause:
(1)  The open season for brown quail in each year commences on the first Saturday in May and ends on the fifth Sunday following that day.

6.    Clause 9 amended (Open season for European fallow deer)

Clause 9(b) of the Principal Order is amended by omitting subparagraph (ii) and substituting the following subparagraph:
(ii) the period starting on the second Saturday in May of the year and ending on the sixth Sunday following that day (unless that Sunday precedes the second Monday in June in which case the season ends on that second Monday in June).

This order amends the National Parks and Wildlife (Open Seasons) Order 2001 by altering the periods of the open seasons for brown quail and European fallow deer.
