Forensic Procedures Amendment Regulations 2003

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Forensic Procedures Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Forensic Procedures Amendment Regulations 2003 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Forensic Procedures Regulations 2001 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 4 amended (Corresponding laws)

Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting from paragraph (b) "Territory." and substituting "Territory;";
(b) by inserting the following paragraphs after paragraph (b) :
(c) Subdivision 30A of Division 1 of Part 3 of the Crimes Act 1958 of Victoria;
(d) Criminal Investigation (Identifying People) Act 2002 of Western Australia.

These regulations prescribe certain laws to be corresponding laws for the purposes of the definition of "corresponding law" in the Forensic Procedures Act 2000.
