Poisons List Amendment Order (No. 4) 2002
I make the following order under section 14 of the Poisons Act 1971 .

This order may be cited as the Poisons List Amendment Order (No. 4) 2002 .
This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette or on 1 January 2003, whichever is later.
In this order, the Poisons List Order 2001 is referred to as the Principal Order.
4. Schedule 2 amended (Medicinal Poisons)
Schedule 2 to the Principal Order is amended as follows:(a) by omitting item 2065 and substituting the following:
2065.
Hyoscine butylbromide, as the only therapeutically active substance, in divided preparations for oral use containing 20mg or less of hyoscine butylbromide per dosage unit in a pack containing 200mg or less of hyoscine butylbromide.
(b) by omitting item 2122 and substituting the following:
2122.
Pseudoephedrine in preparations (other than preparations for stimulant, appetite-suppression or weight-control purposes) with a recommended daily dose of 240mg or less of pseudoephedrine
(a) in undivided preparations containing 60mg or less of pseudoephedrine per recommended dose; or
(b) when in combination with other therapeutically active substances; or
(c) in slow-release preparations.
5. Schedule 3 amended (Potent Substances)
Schedule 3 to the Principal Order is amended by inserting after item 3067 the following item:

Pseudoephedrine in preparations (other than preparations for stimulant, appetite-suppression or weight-control purposes) with a recommended daily dose of 240mg or less of pseudoephedrine, where pseudoephedrine is the only therapeutically active substance, in divided preparations containing 60mg or less of pseudoephedrine per recommended dose in a pack containing 30 or less dosage units, except in slow-release preparations.
6. Schedule 4 amended (Restricted Substances)

7. Schedule 5 amended (Domestic Poisons)
Schedule 5 to the Principal Order is amended as follows:(a) by inserting after paragraph (e) in item 5031 the following:

Betacyfluthrin in aqueous preparations containing 2.5% or less of betacyfluthrin.
(b) by omitting item 5170 and substituting the following:

3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbamate (Iodocarb) when in preparations containing 10% or less of 3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbamate, except when in aqueous preparations containing 10% or less of 3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbamate.
(c) by inserting after paragraph (b) in item 5267 the following:

(b) in preparations for human internal use containing 5mg or less of copper per recommended daily dose; or
(c) pigments where the solubility of the copper compound(s) in water is 1g per litre or less; or
(d) in feed additives containing 1% or less of copper; or
(e) in other preparations containing 5% or less of copper compounds.
(e) by omitting item 6105 and substituting the following:

Creosote except
(a) when included in Schedule 2 ; or
(b) in preparations for human therapeutic use containing 10% or less of creosote; or
(c) in other preparations containing 3% or less of phenols and homologues of phenol boiling below 220oC.
(f) by inserting after paragraph (c) in item 6230 the following:

3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbamate (Iodocarb) except
(a) when included in Schedule 5 ; or

9. Schedule 7 amended (Dangerous Poisons)
Schedule 7 to the Principal Order is amended by omitting item 7023 from Part 1 and substituting:

Betacyfluthrin except when included in Schedule 5 or 6 .
