Threatened Species Protection Order (No. 2) 2002

I, on the recommendation of the Scientific Advisory Committee, make the following order under section 13(5) of the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Threatened Species Protection Order (No. 2) 2002 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

In this order, "Act" means the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 .

4.   Schedule 3 amended (Taxa of native flora and fauna which are endangered)

(1)  The items relating to Fauna - Vertebrates in Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the Act are amended as follows:

(a) by inserting after paragraph (ac) in item 2 the following:

(ad) Alcedo azurea diemenensis

(Gould)

(b) by inserting after paragraph (l) in item 2 the following:

(m) Tyto novaehollandiae castanops

(Gould)

(c) by inserting after paragraph (f) in item 4 the following:

This order amends the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 by adding certain species to, and omitting certain species from, the Schedules of endangered, vulnerable and rare native flora and fauna.
