Crime (Confiscation of Profits) Amendment Regulations 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Crime (Confiscation of Profits) Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Crime (Confiscation of Profits) Amendment Regulations 2002 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Crime (Confiscation of Profits) Regulations 1993 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 10 inserted

After regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted:

10.   Prescribed purpose under section 79(5)(e) of Act

The valuation and auctioning of forfeited property by the Director of Public Prosecutions is a prescribed purpose under section 79(5)(e) of the Act.

These regulations make the valuation and auctioning of forfeited property by the Director of Public Prosecutions a prescribed purpose under section 79(5)(e) of the Crime (Confiscation of Profits) Act 1993.
