Fire Service (Finance) Amendment Regulations 2002

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the State Fire Commission, make the following regulations under the Fire Service Act 1979 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Fire Service (Finance) Amendment Regulations 2002 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on 1 June 2002.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 1996 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 6 substituted

Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted:

6.   Prescribed minimum assessed annual values of land under section 79A(2)

For the purposes of section 79A(2) of the Act, the minimum assessed annual value of land for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2002 is –
(a) $1 845 in relation to each permanent brigade rating district; and
(b) $2 158 in relation to each composite brigade rating district; and
(c) $5 815 in relation to each volunteer brigade rating district; and
(d) $6 853 in relation to general land.

These regulations amend the Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 1996 by prescribing the minimum assessed annual values of land for the purposes of section 79A(2) of the Fire Service Act 1979 for the financial year commencing on 1 July 2002.
