Government Prices Oversight (MAIB Premiums) Amendment Order (No. 2) 2001

I make the following order under section 36 of the Government Prices Oversight Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Government Prices Oversight (MAIB Premiums) Amendment Order (No. 2) 2001 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on 5 December 2001.

3.   Principal Order

In this order, the Government Prices Oversight (MAIB Premiums) Order 2000 is referred to as the Principal Order.

4.    Clause 3 amended (Interpretation)

Clause 3(1) of the Principal Order is amended by inserting after the definition of severe disability the following definition:
special interest vehicle means a motor vehicle in respect of which a motor tax rebate applies under regulation 100A of the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000 ;

5.    Schedule 1 amended (Motor vehicle classes and maximum premiums)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended by inserting in item 18 "special interest vehicle," after "A".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order amends the Government Prices Oversight (MAIB Premiums) Order 2000 consequent on the introduction of a concessional registration scheme for special interest motor vehicles such as those designed or adapted exclusively for use in charitable events such as Tasbash or in rallies conducted by the Confederation of Australia Motor Sports.
