Weed Management Amendment Regulations 2001

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Weed Management Act 1999 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Weed Management Amendment Regulations 2001 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Weed Management Regulations 2000 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting " Weed Management Act 1999 ." from the definition of Act and substituting " Weed Management Act 1999 ;";
(b) by inserting the following definition after the definition of Act :
tolerance level means the tolerance level as determined by the maximum number of seeds in each kilogram of imported feed grain.

5.    Schedule 1 amended (Tolerance levels of seeds in feed grains)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Weed Management Regulations 2000 by specifying that the tolerance level, in relation to the importation of a declared weed, means the maximum number of seeds in each kilogram of imported feed grain.
