Proclamation under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, by this my proclamation made under section 14(1) of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970  –

(a) declare the land specified in Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area; and

(b) give the name Sherwood Hill Conservation Area to that reserved land; and

(c) declare the land specified in Schedule 2 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of conservation area; and

(d) give the name Spinning Gum Conservation Area to that reserved land; and

(e) declare the land specified in Schedule 3 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of regional reserve; and

(f) give the name Leven Canyon Regional Reserve to that reserved land; and

(g) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE 1 - Sherwood Hill Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 555 hectares shown bounded by a heavy black line on Plan Number 4742 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Schedule 4 to this proclamation.

SCHEDULE 2 - Spinning Gum Conservation Area

All that area of land comprising about 490 hectares shown bounded by a heavy black line on Plan Number 4625 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Schedule 5 to this proclamation.

SCHEDULE 3 - Leven Canyon Regional Reserve

All that area of land comprising about 2 467 hectares shown bounded by a heavy black line on Plan Number 5259 in the Central Plan Register, a reduced copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Schedule 6 to this proclamation.
