Gaming Control Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Gaming Control Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Gaming Control Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2000 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Gaming Control Regulations 1994 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after the definition of Act the following definitions:
category A technician's licence means a licence under Division 4 of Part 4 of the Act that authorises a technician to perform all functions of a technician;
category B technician's licence means a licence under Division 4 of Part 4 of the Act that authorises a technician to perform functions that the Commission determines are category B functions;

5.    Regulation 4A inserted

After regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted:

4A.   Gaming and wagering guarantee

(1)  The amount of the gaming and wagering guarantee to be provided under clause 3(5) of Schedule 5 to the Act by the holder of a Tasmanian gaming licence referred to in that clause is $25 000.
(2)  The gaming and wagering guarantee is to be provided by providing to the Commission a copy of that guarantee within 21 days after the day on which this regulation takes effect.

6.    Schedule 1 amended (Fees)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting item 8 and substituting the following:

These regulations amend the Gaming Control Regulations 1994 to prescribe certain licence fees and a certain gaming and wagering guarantee.
