Transport (Exemptions) Amendment (Public Vehicles Reform) Regulations 2000

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Transport Commission, make the following regulations under the Transport Act 1981 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Transport (Exemptions) Amendment (Public Vehicles Reform) Regulations 2000 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which the Passenger Transport Act 1997 commences.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Transport (Exemptions) Regulations 1981 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting the definition of ambulance ;
(b) by omitting the definition of road authority .

5.   Regulation 4 amended (Exemptions from payment of sums, fees, &c., in certain cases)

Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraphs (e), (f), (g), (h) and (i).

These regulations amend the Transport (Exemptions) Regulations 1981 by rescinding provisions that have been rendered obsolete by the public vehicle reforms effected by the Passenger Transport Act 1997 and related legislation.
