Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2000
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2000 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 1999 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)
Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting the definition of carapace ;(b) by omitting the definition of rostrum .
5. Regulation 7 amended (Taking fish from inland waters)
Regulation 7(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (e) .
6. Regulation 13 amended (Unattended equipment)
Regulation 13(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (b) .
7. Regulation 14 amended (Possession of crayfish)
Regulation 14(a) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "female".
8. Regulation 15 amended (Minimum sizes of fish)
Regulation 15 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting paragraph (c) from subregulation (1) ;(b) by omitting from subregulation (3) "freshwater crayfish and";(c) by omitting subregulation (4) .
9. Regulation 16 amended (Bag limits)
Regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting subregulation (4) ;(b) by omitting from subregulation (6) " Subregulations (1) and (4) do not" and substituting "Subregulation (1) does not".
10. Regulation 18 substituted
Regulation 18 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted:18. Prohibition on taking crayfish
A person must not take any freshwater crayfish at any time.Penalty: Fine of not less than 1 penalty unit and not more than 5 penalty units and a special penalty of 1 penalty unit for each fish.
11. Regulation 21 amended (Use of baits and lures)
Regulation 21(6) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "perch, tench,".
12. Regulation 27 rescinded
Regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations amend the Inland Fisheries (Recreational Fishing) Regulations 1999 by (a) omitting certain definitions; and(b) omitting certain provisions providing for the limited taking and possession of certain freshwater crayfish; and(c) prescribing offences for the possession and taking of any freshwater crayfish; and(d) prescribing that a person who fishes in inland waters may have live or dead perch or tench in their possession; and(e) rescinding the provision that provided for the expiry of the regulations on a certain date.
