Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 1999 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.   Schedule 9 substituted

Schedule 9 to the Principal Regulations is omitted and the following Schedule is substituted:

SCHEDULE 9 - Vehicle registration fees

Regulation 30A(1)

PART 1 - Fees for standard vehicle registration period

		Fee units
1.	For the registration or renewal of registration of a motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle) with a GVM not exceeding 4.5 tonnes –
	(a) by a pensioner, a severely disabled person or the parent or guardian of a severely disabled person who has not attained the age of 16 years	32
	(b) by any other person	57
2.	For the registration or renewal of registration of a motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle) with a GVM exceeding 4.5 tonnes	57
3.	For the registration or renewal of registration of a motor cycle –
	(a) by a pensioner	23
	(b) by any other person	46
4.	For the transfer of registration of a motor vehicle	16
5.	For the registration or renewal of registration of a trailer with a GTM not exceeding 4.5 tonnes –
	(a) by a pensioner	10
	(b) by any other person	20
6.	For the registration or renewal of registration of a trailer with a GTM exceeding 4.5 tonnes	20
7.	For the transfer of registration of a trailer	11

PART 2 - Fees for half-yearly registration

	Fee units
For the registration or renewal of registration of a heavy vehicle, other than a trailer, for a period of 6 months	29
For the registration or renewal of registration of a heavy vehicle that is a trailer for a period of 6 months	10

PART 3 - Fees for quarterly registration

	Fee units
For the registration or renewal of registration of a heavy vehicle, other than a trailer, for a period of 3 months	15
For the registration or renewal of registration of a heavy vehicle that is a trailer for a period of 3 months	5

PART 4 - Reduced registration fees

If a fee for an item set out in this Schedule is paid by means of an Internet payment system or a telephone payment system, the amount of the fee is to be reduced by 5 fee units.

These regulations replace a Schedule to the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 to correct the numbering in that Schedule.
