Local Government Amendment (Operational Plans) Regulations 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the section 71(2) of the Local Government Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Local Government Amendment (Operational Plans) Regulations 1999 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Local Government Regulations 1994 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 32 inserted

After regulation 31 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted in Part 4:

32.   Operational plans

For the purpose of section 71(2)(f) of the Act, an operational plan of a council is to include –
(a) a statement outlining its plans in relation to water supplied by it for domestic consumption; and
(b) sufficient financial information to demonstrate that it is applying the pricing guidelines in relation to water supplied by it for domestic consumption as specified in the Urban Water Pricing Guidelines (October 1999) issued by the Government Prices Oversight Commission.

These regulations provide that a statement relating to application of pricing guidelines is to be included in the operational plan of a council.
