Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment (Partial Rescission) Regulations 1999
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Amendment (Partial Rescission) Regulations 1999 .
These regulations take effect on 1 December 1999.
In these regulations, the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
Regulation 90 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted:A person must not drive a horse-drawn vehicle on a public street, or cause or permit a horse-drawn vehicle to be driven on a public street, unless the halter of the horse is securely fastened to the back of the vehicle at a distance not exceeding 1.2 metres.
5. Regulation 93 amended (Offences)
Regulation 93 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulations (2) and (3).
6. Regulation 97 amended (Offences by pedestrians)
Regulation 97 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (1).
7. Regulation 101 amended (Offences)
(1) Regulation 101(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by omitting paragraphs (a), (c) and (d);(b) by omitting from paragraph (e) "street;" and substituting "street; or";(c) by omitting paragraphs (f) and (g).(2) Regulation 101 is further amended by omitting subregulations (2), (2A), (3), (4) and (5) and substituting the following subregulations:(2) A person must not ride a wheeled recreational device or wheeled toy on a public street except in accordance with a council by-law.(3) For the purposes of subregulation (2) wheeled recreational device means a wheeled device, built to transport a person, propelled by human power or gravity, and ordinarily used for recreation or play, and (a) includes rollerblades, rollerskates, a skateboard or similar wheeled device; or(b) does not include a golf buggy, pram, stroller or trolley, or a bicycle, wheelchair or wheeled toy;wheeled toy means a child's pedal car, scooter or tricycle or a similar toy, but only when it is being used by a child who is under 12 years old.
8. Partial rescission of Principal Regulations
The following provisions of the Principal Regulations are rescinded:(a) Regulation 91;(b) Regulation 92;(c) Regulation 95;(d) Regulation 96;(e) Regulation 98A.

These regulations amend the Traffic (Miscellaneous) Regulations 1968 by (a) rescinding provisions that have been made redundant by the Traffic (Road Rules) Regulations 1999 ; and(b) consequentially amending provisions that remain.
