Gaming Control Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Gaming Control Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Gaming Control Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 1999 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Gaming Control Regulations 1994 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Fees)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting paragraph (a) from item 2 and substituting the following:
 

(a) base fee

(b) by inserting after subparagraph (ii) in paragraph (b) of item 3 the following:

3A. 

Application for renewal of licensed premises gaming licence in relation to keno –

 
 

(a) base fee

(b) further fee, in addition to the base fee, for each nominated associate who has not been approved as a suitable associate, special employee or technician of the licensee in the 12 month period preceding the day the application is received –

 
 

(i) if the associate has been fingerprinted for the purposes of the Act or these regulations

(ii) if the associate has not been so fingerprinted

3B. 

Application for renewal of licensed premises gaming licence in relation to gaming machines or keno and gaming machines –

 
 

(a) base fee

450

 

(b) further fee, in addition to the base fee, for each nominated associate who has not been approved as a suitable associate, special employee or technician of the licensee in the 12 month period preceding the day the application is received –

 
 

(i) if the associate has been fingerprinted for the purposes of the Act and these regulations

(ii) if the associate has not been so fingerprinted

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations –
(a) increase the fee that is payable on an application for a licensed premises gaming licence in relation to keno; and
(b) prescribe fees for the renewal of licensed premises gaming licences.
