Inland Fisheries Amendment (Whitebait) Regulations 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Inland Fisheries Amendment (Whitebait) Regulations 1999 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Inland Fisheries Regulations 1996 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 14 amended (Whitebait limits)

Regulation 14 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (a) the following paragraphs:
(aa) use more than one whitebait net at any one time; or
(ab) use a whitebait net unless the net has attached to it a tag bearing the number of the whitebait licence; or
(ac) be more than 20 metres away from the whitebait net while it is in use; or

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.
