State Policies and Projects (Project of State Significance) Order 1999
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under section 18(2) of the State Policies and Projects Act 1993 .

This order may be cited as the State Policies and Projects (Project of State Significance) Order 1999 .
This order is of no effect until it has been approved by both Houses of Parliament under section 18 of the State Policies and Projects Act 1993 .
3. Project of State significance
The proposal by Basslink Pty. Ltd. (ACN 061 253 549) for the establishment of an interconnection linking the Tasmanian and Victorian electricity grids by a high voltage direct current submarine cable across Bass Strait is declared to be a project of State significance.
