Traffic (General and Local) Amendment (Riding Bicycles) Regulations 1999
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (General and Local) Amendment (Riding Bicycles) Regulations 1999 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 16C amended (Offences)
Regulation 16C(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (e) and substituting the following paragraphs:(e) abreast of more than one other bicycle proceeding in the same direction on a carriageway, except for the purpose of overtaking those bicycles; or(f) abreast of another bicycle proceeding in the same direction on a shared or segregated footway or bicycle path, unless it is safe to do so.

These regulations amend the Traffic (General and Local) Regulations 1956 by permitting 2 bicycles to be ridden abreast on a public street.
