Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Regulations 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Regulations 1999 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1988 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (1) and substituting the following subregulation:
(1)  In these regulations, unless the contrary intention appears –
Act means the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987 ;
fee unit has the same meaning as in the Fee Units Act 1997 .

5.    Regulation 4 amended (Services not included in veterinary services)

Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting "of the Act" after " section 3(1) ".

6.    Schedule 2 substituted

Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted:

These regulations amend the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1988 to increase fees payable for applications and registrations under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1987 .
