EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Consumer Credit (Tasmania) Regulations by amending the period of application of certain sections which are specified in Schedule 1 . The current law provides for those sections to apply to changes occurring before 1 July 1999. However, the effect of the proclamations notified in the Gazette as Statutory Rules 1998, Nos. 158 and 159, is that that date will be changed to 23 December 1998. It is therefore expedient to amend the relevant sections to make an express provision to that effect.
