Disposal of Uncollected Goods Regulations 1998
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1968 .

These regulations may be cited as the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Regulations 1998 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations,Act means the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1968 .
4. Terms and conditions on which sales by bailiffs may be conducted
The following terms and conditions are prescribed as the terms and conditions on which a bailiff is to conduct a public auction for the purposes of section 8(2) of the Act:(a) a notice of the auction, stating the time, date and place of the auction and the kind of goods to be auctioned, is to be posted, in a prominent place at every courthouse and police station within the municipality in which the auction is to take place, at least 10 days before the date of the auction;(b) in the case of a motor vehicle, a notice is to be published, once in a newspaper circulating in that municipality stating the time, date and place of the auction and giving a full description of the motor vehicle to be auctioned, not more than 10 days, and not less than 7 days, before the date of the auction.
