Proclamation under the Water Act 1957

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Rivers and Water Supply Commission, by this my proclamation made under section 26(1) of the Water Act 1957  –

(a) appoint the district specified in Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be a water district; and

(b) name that district the Brittons Swamp Water District; and

(c) revoke the proclamation under the Closer Settlement Act 1957 published in the Gazette on 9 November 1960, page 1598; and

(d) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE 1 - Brittons Swamp Water District

All that area of land indicated as bounded by heavy black lines on Plan No. 4248 in the Central Plan Register, a copy of which is set out, by way of illustration only, in Schedule 2 to this proclamation.

This proclamation –

(a) appoints, names and defines the Brittons Swamp Water District; and

(b) revokes an earlier proclamation relating to the Brittons Swamp Water District.
