Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 4) 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 268A of the Local Government Act 1993 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 4) 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Polling-day

The polling-day under Part 15 of the Local Government Act 1993 is fixed as follows:

(a) 24 November 1998 in respect of the municipal area of Derwent Valley;

(b) 23 March 1999 in respect of all other municipal areas.

4.    Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 3) 1998 revoked

The Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 3) 1998 is revoked.

Notified in the Gazette on 8 October 1998

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

(a) fixes 24 November 1998 as the polling-day under Part 15 of the Local Government Act 1993 in respect of the municipal area of Derwent Valley and 23 March 1999 in respect of all other municipal areas; and

(b) revokes a previous order.
