Tasmanian State Service (Agencies and Heads of Agencies) Order (No. 2) 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 6 of the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Tasmanian State Service (Agencies and Heads of Agencies) Order (No. 2) 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Act

In this order, the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.   Schedule 1 amended (Agencies)

(1)  Division 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting "Community and Health Services" from the item relating to the Department of Community and Health Services and substituting "Health and Human Services";

(b) by omitting ", Training, Community and Cultural Development" from the item relating to the Department of Education, Training, Community and Cultural Development;

(c) by omitting "Environment and Land Management" from the item relating to the Department of Environment and Land Management and substituting "Primary Industries, Water and Environment";

(d) by inserting in the item relating to the Department of Justice "and Industrial Relations" after "Justice";

(e) by omitting "and Public Safety" from the item relating to the Department of Police and Public Safety;

(f) by omitting the items relating to the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries, the Department of Transport, TAFE Tasmania and Tasmania Development and Resources;

(g) by inserting the following items after the item relating to the Department of Treasury and Finance:

Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources

Secretary

Department of State Development

Secretary

(2)  Division 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended by omitting the item relating to the Workplace Standards Authority.

(3)  Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended by omitting the items relating to Private Forests Tasmania, the Tasmania Fire Service, the Tasmanian Secondary Assessment Board and Tourism Tasmania.

This order amends Schedule 1 to the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984 , which specifies the Agencies and Heads of Agencies, consequential on the restructuring of the State Service.
