Sale of Hazardous Goods Order 1998

The Products Safety Committee makes the following order under section 8 of the Sale of Hazardous Goods Act 1977 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Sale of Hazardous Goods Order 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

In this order,
children's cot means a children's cot, other than a folding cot, carry cot or cradle.

4.   Condition on sale of children's cots

A person must not sell a children's cot unless it complies with the requirements of Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2172 - 1995, Cots for household use - Safety requirements, except for clauses 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10.

5.   Revocation

The Sale of Hazardous Goods Order 1991 , being Statutory Rules 1991, No. 126, is revoked.

This order was made by Products Safety Committee at a meeting held on 22 July 1998.
