Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order (No. 2) 1998

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 4(1) of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order (No. 2) 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Order

In this order, the Administrative Arrangements Order 1998 is referred to as the Principal Order.

4.   Schedule 1 amended (Administration of departments and enactments)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended as follows:
(a) by inserting "Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970" after "Police Regulation Act 1898" in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Police and Public Safety which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR POLICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY";
(b) by omitting "Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970" from the list of Acts specified under the Department of Transport which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT";
(c) by inserting "Lands Building Agreement Act 1978" after "Judges' Contributory Pensions Act 1968" in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Treasury and Finance which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR FINANCE";
(d) by inserting "Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Act 1998" after "Tourism and Recreational Development Act 1977" in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Treasury and Finance which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR FINANCE";
(e) by omitting "DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY AND FINANCE" which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR PUBLIC SECTOR ADMINISTRATION" and the Act listed under that Department.

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order –
(a) transfers the administration of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Act 1998 from the Treasurer to the Minister for Finance; and
(b) amends the Administrative Arrangements Order 1998 by –
(i) transferring the administration of the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970 from the Minister for Transport to the Minister for Police and Public Safety; and
(ii) transferring the administration of the Lands Building Agreement Act 1978 from the Minister for Public Sector Administration to the Minister for Finance.
