Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order 1998

I, the Lieutenant-Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements Amendment Order 1998 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Interpretation

The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if this order were by-laws.

4.   Principal Order

In this order, the Administrative Arrangements Order 1998 is referred to as the Principal Order.

5.   Schedule 1 amended (Administration of departments and enactments)

Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting "Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995" from the list of Acts specified under the Office of Energy Planning and Conservation which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR ENERGY";
(b) by inserting "Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995" after "Electricity Companies Act 1997" under the Department of Treasury and Finance which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR ENERGY".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends the Administrative Arrangements Order 1998 by transferring the responsibility for the administration of the Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995 from the Office of Energy Planning and Conservation to the Department of Treasury and Finance.
