Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Temporary Exemptions Regulations 1998
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Act 1998 .

These regulations may be cited as the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Temporary Exemptions Regulations 1998 .
These regulations take effect on 1 July 1998.
In these regulations Commonwealth Act means the Act of the Parliament of the Commonwealth enacted as referred to in section 4(1) of the State Act;State Act means the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (Tasmania) Act 1998 .
4. Temporary exemptions relating to electrical articles
In accordance with section 5 of the State Act, the following laws are, for the purposes of section 46 of the Commonwealth Act, declared to be exempt from the operation of the Commonwealth Act to the extent that they deal with electrical articles:(a) Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997 ;(b) Hydro-Electric Commission (Electrical Approvals) Order 1992 ;(c) Hydro-Electric Commission (Electrical Approvals) Regulations 1992 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations declare certain laws of Tasmania relating to electrical articles to be exempt from the operation of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 of the Commonwealth. By virtue of section 46 of that Act, the exemption cannot operate for a period longer than 12 months.
