Proclamation under the Meat Hygiene Act 1985
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 44(1) of the Meat Hygiene Act 1985 declare that
19 June 1998(a) for the period 1 July 1998 to 30 June 2001, inclusive, Part III and sections 3(3) , (4) , 52(1)(c) and 60(2) of that Act do not apply to or in relation to (i) mutton-birds or rabbits intended to be slaughtered for the production of meat or meat products; or(ii) any meat, meat product or slaughtering product produced from mutton-birds or rabbits; and(b) this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

This proclamation declares that, for the period 1 July 1998 to 30 June 2001, certain provisions of the Meat Hygiene Act 1985 do not apply to, or in relation to, mutton-birds or rabbits.
