Ambulance Service Amendment Regulations 1998
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Ambulance Service Act 1982 .

These regulations may be cited as the Ambulance Service Amendment Regulations 1998 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Ambulance Service Regulations 1983 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted:SCHEDULE 1 - Fees for ambulance servicesRegulation 23
1.
Provision of ambulance services to person able to recover fees under an enactment
(a) for attendance of an ambulance (regardless of distance involved) excluding any treatment or transport
$50
(b) for attendance of an ambulance (regardless of distance involved) with treatment but no transport
$150
(c) for attendance of an ambulance with treatment and transport by road , for the round trip from the ambulance's base
(i) for the first 50 km
$400
(ii) for each additional kilometre in excess of 50 km, with a maximum fee of $1 500
$2.50
(d) for provision of specialised vehicle rescue (patient extrication) services, regardless of distance involved
$2 000
(e) for provision of ambulance care on fixed wing aircraft
the actual cost of the hire of the aircraft as contained in any contract with Government
(plus $100 for each hour or part of an hour of the round trip from the aircraft's base)

Attendance of an ambulance at a sporting, cultural or similar event for the round trip from the ambulance's base
(a) for the first 3 hours
$245.30
(b) for each additional hour or part of an hour
$82
(c) for each kilometre in excess of 50 km
$2.50

These regulations amend the Ambulance Service Regulations 1983 by revising the schedule of fees for ambulance services.
