Education and Care Services National Law (Application) Amendment Act 2026
An Act to amend the Education and Care Services National Law (Application) Act 2011
[Royal Assent 5 June 2026]
Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Education and Care Services National Law (Application) Amendment Act 2026 .
This Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
In this Act, the Education and Care Services National Law (Application) Act 2011 is referred to as the Principal Act.
4. Sections 14A and 14B inserted
After section 14 of the Principal Act , the following sections are inserted in Part 2:14A. Working with children law
For the purposes of the definition of "working with children law" in section 5 of the Education and Care Services National Law (Tasmania), the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 , to the extent that it relates to working with children, is declared to be a working with children law for this jurisdiction for the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law (Tasmania).14B. Working with vulnerable people law
For the purposes of the definition of "working with vulnerable people law" in section 5 of the Education and Care Services National Law (Tasmania), the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 , to the extent that it relates to working with vulnerable people, is declared to be a working with vulnerable people law for this jurisdiction for the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law (Tasmania).
This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of the day on which it commenced.
