Constitution Amendment (House of Assembly Electoral Boundaries) Act 2018

An Act to amend the Constitution Act 1934

[Royal Assent 28 September 2018]

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1.   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Constitution Amendment (House of Assembly Electoral Boundaries) Act 2018 .

2.   Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3.   Principal Act

In this Act, the Constitution Act 1934 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Section 22 amended (Constitution of the Assembly)

Section 22(4) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting "Denison" and substituting "Clark".

5.    Schedule 4 substituted

Schedule 4 to the Principal Act is repealed and the following Schedule is substituted:

The area shown on Plan 10663 in the Central Plan Register as the Division of Bass

BRADDON

The area shown on Plan 10664 in the Central Plan Register as the Division of Braddon

CLARK

The area shown on Plan 10665 in the Central Plan Register as the Division of Clark

FRANKLIN

The area shown on Plan 10666 in the Central Plan Register as the Division of Franklin

LYONS

The area shown on Plan 10667 in the Central Plan Register as the Division of Lyons

6.   Repeal of Act

This Act is repealed on the three hundred and sixty fifth day from the day on which it commences.
