Government House Land Amendment Act 2017

An Act to amend the Government House Land Act 1964

[Royal Assent 13 June 2017]

Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1.   Short title

This Act may be cited as the Government House Land Amendment Act 2017 .

2.   Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3.   Principal Act

In this Act, the Government House Land Act 1964 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Section 2 amended (Dedication of Government House land)

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after paragraph (a) the following paragraph:
(ab) dedicated for the purpose of being used, including by leasing out of part of the land or the use under licence, or by other authority, of part of the land, to raise revenue to be applied for the maintenance and preservation of the site and the residence; and

5.   Repeal of Act

This Act is repealed on the three hundred and sixty fifth day from the day on which it commences.
