Meat Hygiene Amendment Act 1997
An Act to amend the Meat Hygiene Act 1985
[Royal Assent 13 November 1997]
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Meat Hygiene Amendment Act 1997 .
This Act commences on a day to be proclaimed.
In this Act, the Meat Hygiene Act 1985 is referred to as the Principal Act.
4. Section 3 amended (Interpretation)
Section 3(1) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting "construction", wherever occurring, from the definition of "prescribed standard" and substituting "layout".
5. Section 6 amended (Appointment of Chief Inspector of Meat Hygiene and inspectors)
Section 6(1) of the Principal Act is amended as follows:(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) "registered as a veterinary surgeon under the Veterinary Act 1918 " and substituting "suitably qualified";(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) "registered" and substituting "qualified".
6. Section 71 amended (Regulations)
Section 71 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (6) the following subsection:(7) The regulations may adopt or incorporate the whole or any part of any document, standard, rule, code, specification or method, with or without modification, issued, prescribed or published by any person or body before or after the regulations take effect.
