EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) for the purposes of the Firearms Act 1996 , provide for –(i) various matters in respect of firearms and ammunition; and(ii) storage and safety requirements in respect of firearms and ammunition; and(iii) the period for which a firearms licence remains in force; and(iv) fees for various matters under the Act and these regulations; and(b) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Firearms Regulations 2016 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
