EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) provide for the submission of an environment plan for petroleum activities carried out in an adjacent area as defined in the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982 ; and(b) provide for the reporting of, and the keeping of records in relation to, certain incidents arising from the carrying out of those petroleum activities; and(c) provide for the discharge of produced formation water into the sea as a result of the carrying out of those petroleum activities; and(d) provide for other procedural matters relating to petroleum activities; and(e) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Management of Environment) Regulations 2002 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
