EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) provide for applications for permits authorising the cremation of deceased persons; and(b) provide for the duties of crematorium managers and managers of a prescribed business to ensure the correct identification, security, removal and storage of deceased persons and their cremated remains; and(c) provide for the powers of prescribed officers to enter certain premises to collect evidence to determine if offences against the Act or these regulations are being, or have been, committed; and(d) provide for savings and transitional provisions; and(e) are made consequentially on the repeal of the Burial and Cremation (Cremation) Regulations 2002 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 .
