Cooperatives Regulations 2010

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations, which are made consequentially on the repeal of the Cooperatives Regulations 2000 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 , make provision for or with respect to –

(a) the maximum fine that may be fixed by the rules of a cooperative; and

(b) active membership provisions of the rules of a cooperative; and

(c) postal ballots conducted by cooperatives; and

(d) management and administration of cooperatives; and

(e) funds and property of a cooperative; and

(f) restrictions on the acquisition of interests in cooperatives; and

(g) merger, transfer of engagements and winding-up of cooperatives; and

(h) arrangements and reconstructions of cooperatives; and

(i) foreign cooperatives; and

(j) supervision and protection of cooperatives; and

(k) fees payable under the Cooperatives Act 1999 .
