EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000 by –

(a) revising the Schedule of demerit points offences in line with the Road Rules 2009 ; and

(b) increasing the demerit points applicable to certain offences; and

(c) prescribing minimum fines for excessive speeding for the purposes of section 19B(1)(c)(i)(A) and (B) of the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .
