EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Poisons Regulations 1975 by –(a) updating the definition of dental therapist; and(b) removing the requirement for dental therapists to be supervised when administering certain restricted substances; and(c) permitting wholesale and manufacturing chemists to supply dental therapists with those restricted substances; and(d) permitting registered nurses to administer medicinal poisons and potent substances in the course of nursing practice.
