EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Environmental Management and Pollution Control (Waste Management) Regulations 2000 to provide penalties in respect of –

(a) a failure to manage controlled waste in accordance with a National Management Plan or a national environment protection measure; and

(b) setting fire to, or burning, waste in certain circumstances.
