EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation)
These regulations –(a) prescribe the restrictions and qualifications that are to apply to the use of wheeled recreational devices and toys (such as rollerblades, skateboards and scooters) on roads and paths once the provisions of the national road rules that generally permit such use come into effect in this State on 1 July 2001; and(b) remove the temporary Tasmanian prohibition on cyclists and animal riders using footpaths; such use is generally permitted under the national road rules; and(c) provide for the continuation, beyond 1 July 2001, of certain road rules that were to have expired on that date.
