Libraries Amendment Regulations 1997

These regulations are administered in the Department of Education, Community and Cultural Development.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Libraries Regulations 1985 (S.R. 1985, No. 249) by –

(a) increasing penalties; and

(b) replacing, in accordance with current administrative arrangements, references to the former office of State Librarian with references to the Secretary of the Department; and

(c) updating certain other references; and

(d) simplifying provisions which regulate the parking of vehicles on library property; and

(e) imposing stricter requirements on minors who apply for a library card.
