EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order –(a) specifies the maximum fares chargeable for the 3 years commencing on 30 June 1997 by the Metropolitan Transport Trust on routes operated by the Trust in accordance with published timetables; and(b) amends the Metropolitan Transport Act 1954 and the Metropolitan Transport By-laws 1990 to remove provisions relating to the setting of fares and the fares chargeable on those routes; and(c) does not specify any maximum price for travel on buses operated by the Trust otherwise than in accordance with published timetables.
